I had the opportunity to visit the set of Adam Sandler’s next Happy Madison film, “I Hate You Dad”, which was filming in Lynn, MA this past week. While on the set I saw a very familiar face walk by. Yes, it was the star of Grandma’s Boy, Alan Covert. For those of you who have never seen Grandma’s Boy you are missing out on a cult classic in my opinion. If you are a fan of the Apatow-era of films in recent years, then you should see Grandma’s Boy. Covert has appeared in many Sandler movies, but for this upcoming release Covert is just lending a hand during filming for “I Hate You Dad”. Covert told me he is keeping busy as a writer and producer on an upcoming film with his friend Nick Swardson (Blades of Glory / Grandma’s Boy) in Bucky Larson: Born To Be A Star, which will hit theaters in September. Alan was very gracious and allowed me to interview him about working with Sandler and his upcoming films.
