Tom Tucker: “Now to Ollie Williams with the weather. What do you have for us Ollie?”
Ollie Williams: “IT’S GONNA RAIN!”
Tom Tucker: “Thanks Ollie.”
That pretty much sums up the final day at the Dew Tour. (That little script is awesome for two reasons. First, it’s a Family Guy reference, and secondly “Ollie” is a skateboarding reference and a Family Guy character rolled into one.)
I was supposed to interview Shaun White today during Vert practice but it has been cancelled due to the ridiculous lightning storm that is looming over Ocean City. So Shaun White, I’ll see you in Killington, VT when the Winter Dew Tour comes to New England. The Dew Tour has been shut down until the storm clears, and it doesn’t look like the rain is going to stop anytime soon. They have postponed the Vert finals until later this evening. Unfortunately I have run out of time here and I must head home. I’ll be checking the Dew Tour twitter feed on the drive home to get updates on the results. I hope Andy Mac takes home first in the vert comp, but if not it would be great to see Bucky Lasek win it in his hometown.
So after a quick bite to eat, and getting drenched on the walk back to the car, we are hitting the road for the next 9 hours to head back home to Boston.
Great time at the Dew Tour. Thanks to Andy Mac, all of the skaters we interviewed, and the amazing staff at Alli Sports!
So sad to see you go Dew Tour.
