About Torey Champagne
Torey Champagne grew up in Worcester County, Massachusetts. He got his start in the entertainment business as a musician, but in his mid-twenties decided to shift his creativity towards television and film production. Champagne quickly became a skilled video editor who had a gift for producing highly stylized features, vignettes, and music videos. Fox Sports Network asked him to return as an Associate Producer/Editor just 3 months after completing an internship for the Boston based sports network. From that moment Torey Champagne Productions was born.
Due to his creativity and unrelenting work ethic, Champagne was able to go into business for himself working for many of the Boston based sports networks and professional teams. He eventually would take a job with the New England Patriots/Kraft Sports Productions as an Editor, and continued to produce and edit features for Fox Sports, who would later become Comcast SportNet.
In the fall of 2008, Champagne was approached by CSN to produce a documentary on former Boston Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez. He would go on to Direct/Write/Produce/and Edit “Manny Being Manny: The Final Days In Boston” which chronicled the outlandish behavior of one of baseball’s most charismatic characters, Manny Ramirez. This television documentary outlined Ramirez’s eventual departure from Boston. “Manny Being Manny” went on to win a Boston/New England Emmy for Best One-Time Sports Special. Since then Torey Champagne has continued to direct, write, and produce other sports related documentaries including, “Living The Dream” and “A Decade of Dominance”.
Champagne has always been interested in sports and finds the natural drama and spectacle it creates a fantastic genre to work with, but he had longed to get back to his roots in music. In 2009 he was able to do so when Boston punk-rock heroes, the Dropkick Murphys, approached him to Direct/Produce/and Edit their upcoming live DVD. Champagne teamed up with two of his most trusted and talented colleagues Director of Photography, Tom Guilmette, and Director of Production, TJ Powers to complete the project. Filming 7 shows over the course of 6 days in March of 2009, the team was able to capture the essence of a Dropkick Murphys show in Boston, and the trio was able to deliver a high energy DVD to compliment the Dropkick Murphys 2010 live record release “Live On Lansdowne”.
Since then Champagne continues to work on producing music videos for area musical acts, as well as editing and producing features and vignettes for professional sports teams, and television networks both in the Boston area and nationally. Currently, Champagne acts as the Special Projects/Feature Producer for Comcast SportsNet New England.
